The 5 R's
The Goodness Journey
Five R's. Four you'll cycle through, one for when you're stuck.
Why do you do what you do?
The Goodness Journey begins with understanding your core values and purpose. Without clear reasons, even impressive goals lead to hollow victories. This step asks you to look inward and define what actually matters, not what looks good on paper, but what resonates in your bones.
Framework
Uses the PEACE Framework to help you define Purpose, Energy, Appreciation, Confidence, and Engagement.
Found in: Chapters 4 & 7
Where are you right now, honestly?
Before you can draw a roadmap, you need to know your starting point. This step is about radical honesty: what do you want, what don't you want, and where are the gaps between your current life and the one you're designing?
Framework
Includes character strength assessments (VIA, Working Genius, DISC) to help you understand your natural wiring.
Found in: Chapters 5 & 6
What systems will get you there?
Goals alone aren't enough. You fall to the level of your systems. This step helps you build the structures, habits, and guardrails that make goodness sustainable, so your values don't crumble under pressure.
Framework
Introduces the NSEW Compass: Non-Negotiables, Sustainable Growth, Essence, and Well-Being.
Found in: Chapters 7 & 8
How do you sustain it daily?
A roadmap without rhythm is just a plan on paper. This step is about finding the sustainable cadence that lets both your work and personal life flourish. Not a rigid schedule, but a living rhythm that flexes with you.
Framework
Practical tools for designing routines that nourish rather than drain.
Found in: Chapter 8
The Fifth R
Rescue
Sometimes you need help before you can begin
Whether it's your first time on the journey or your fifth cycle around, you may find yourself stuck before you can even identify your Reasons. Rescue is about recognizing when you need outside help, whether from coaches, mentors, or accountability partners, to get unstuck and begin (or restart) the journey.
The H.E.I.R. Legacy Framework: Humility, Empathy, Integrity, and Resilience.
Found in: Chapters 5, 9 & 10
The journey doesn't end. Each loop strengthens your foundation and expands your impact.
